Help For Titan Solar Power Customers
Titan Solar Power was one of the largest residential installers in the country until it closed in June 2024. If Titan installed your system, the company that promised workmanship coverage is gone. Your panels and inverters are still covered by their makers, and there are practical steps to get the system serviced.
What Happened
The Solar Power World report of June 17, 2024 says Titan began its solar construction business in Arizona in 2013, installed solar in over 20 states (the pv magazine USA report below puts the figure at 16 states), and worked through a dealership program where outside sales contractors sold systems that Titan installed. The report says a deal to sell the company fell through and Titan closed. The pv magazine USA report of June 17, 2024 adds that Titan had been negotiating with a buyer for six months and that the deal fell through on June 11, 2024, leading management to close operations.
The pv magazine report quotes a solar insurance company saying Titan customers are now left with a 25-year workmanship warranty that is void. Workmanship coverage, which usually covers the installation itself and roof penetrations, came from Titan, so plan as if that layer is gone unless you have separate coverage.
What Happened To The Customer List
The Solar Power World report of April 10, 2025 says service company EnergyAid announced it had acquired Titan Solar Power's intellectual property following Titan's Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing, and that it planned to integrate Titan's monitoring network into its platform and offer a paid membership program. That is one company's announcement. You are not required to use any particular service company, and you can compare it with local licensed contractors.
Who Covers What Now
| Layer | Where To Go |
|---|---|
| Panels | The panel manufacturer, with serial numbers from the labels |
| Inverter, optimizers, or microinverters | The inverter manufacturer |
| Workmanship and roof penetrations | Reported void. Check whether your contract, a separate policy, or your financing company offers anything. |
| Loan | Your lender. A closed installer does not usually end the loan. |
Nevada Customers
The KTNV Las Vegas report of June 19, 2024 says Titan Solar Power NV had drawn dozens of complaints to the Nevada State Contractors Board before closing. In that report, a project manager at a local electrical company suggests checking the Contractors Board for an active C-2 or C2-G electrical license with no disciplinary action before hiring anyone. See Solar Owner Help In Nevada.
Next Steps
- Pull together your contract, permit, equipment list, loan papers, and any dealer paperwork. Titan sold through dealers, so the company on your sales contract may not be Titan.
- Call your panel and inverter makers to confirm active warranties and ask for certified installers near you.
- Move monitoring into your own name through the inverter maker. See Solar Monitoring Stopped Working.
- If the roof is leaking near the array, read Roof Leak Around Solar Panels.
- Before hiring a new company, check its license in your state and get a written scope. Arizona owners can start with Solar Owner Help In Arizona.
